Dr. Larry Runs Big Sur

On April 29, 2018 I'm running the Big Sur Marathon and raising funds so that underprivileged children in the Chapel Hill community have the opportunity to complete a race of their very own.

About the Campaign

Not all children are given equal opportunities.

While I can’t single handedly level the playing field, I can certainly do my part to make sure all children are given the best chance to succeed. I believe this starts with proper nutrition and an understanding of how to live a healthy lifestyle.

I’m dedicating my training to help raise awareness and funds to the food security battle that so many youth in our nation face. My goal is to raise $10,000 which will cover the costs of two campers being enrolled in The Happy Tooth Foundation’s 2018 “Yes, I Can!” summer triathlon camp. Here they will receive two nutritious meals a day while taking on their own training and racing. This camp not only provides access to food, but a sense of camaraderie and achievement that will allow them to enter the next school year thinking, “Yes, I Can!”

Please join me in the fight against youth food insecurity by donating now. You can donate $1-$10 for every mile I will race during Big Sur, or any amount you wish. Every little bit with get us closer to bridging the gap between those who have and those who need.

Thank you!
