Waka Takes On The Assault On Mount Mitchell

I want to make a positive impact on our community. I am racing to help fight childhood hunger and help the cause that gives joy and hope to the children. I signed up for the Assault on Mount Mitchell, which is way beyond my current ability.  I want to demonstrate to myself and others what hard work and determination can accomplish.

About the Campaign

My campaign will help to raise funds to the food security battle that so many children in our nation face. My goal is to raise $2,000 which will  partially cover the costs of one camper being enrolled in The Happy Tooth Foundation’s 2018 “Yes, I Can!” summer triathlon camp. $5,000 would fully cover one camper for the whole summer.  Maybe with your help, we can not only meet my goal, but even be able to fully cover one camper!

At the camp, they will receive two nutritious meals a day while taking on their own training and finally participating in their own race at the end of the summer.  This camp not only provides access to food, but a sense of camaraderie and achievement that will allow them to enter the next school year thinking, “Yes, I Can!”

Your donation will help me in the fight against youth food insecurity.  Every little bit will get us closer to bridging the gap between those who have and those who need.
